Welcome to the East Duke Parlors

Over the decades, the elegant and comfortable East Duke Parlors have been the site for countless Women’s Studies events, as well as many other Duke University lectures and meetings.  With their Victorian beauty and splendor, the Pink and Blue parlors will provide your event with a setting that is a step back in time. To get a sense of these beautiful rooms, peruse our parlor photos on the right of this page! 

Please note: the parlors can only be reserved for events that are officially sponsored by entities of Duke University.

To reserve the parlors, please review the Contract and Guidelines. The rental fee is $100 per room, per day.  After reviewing the guidelines, contact Marialana Weitzel in the Women's Studies office at 684-5683 or email  to see if your date is available to reserve.

The Pink Parlor can accommodate 40 -45 people comfortably.  The room is set up in lecture/talk style as seen in the pictures.  A table or group of chairs can be placed in the front of the room for a panel discussion. See photos of the Pink Parlor below

The Blue Parlor can accommodate 30 - 35 people comfortably.  The furniture is set up in a circle which allows for a "Round Table" effect for a casual, but elegant setting.  There are 16 blue plastic chairs that may be set up around the perimeter of the room for additional seating. See photos of the Blue Parlor below.
